Adult Course Descriptions

Beginner I:

This class is taught as if the student has no knowledge of sewing, sewing machines, patterns, or fabrics. Each sewing technique taught will eventually be used in the final project. All students create the same garment. The garment usually has no collars or set-in sleeves, but require a pocket, darts, and/or facings. Final projects are chosen to encourage the students sewing ability. (See Schedule.)

Beginner II:

This class builds upon the Beg. I class. Garments usually have set-in sleeves, collars, darts, multi seams, pockets, elastic casings, and/or buttonholes. Final projects are chosen to challenge the student to get more detail oriented. (See Schedule.)

Beginner III:

The 3rd class in the series will put your new sewing skills to the test. You will construct a two-piece unconstructed suit, consisting of either a fitted skirt or pants. (Currently not offered.)

Intermediate:

This class is "only" for the students who have completed at least Beg. I & II. Each student uses the techniques previously learned to construct an easy to average garment of their choosing. * (Currently not offered.)

*No more than 8 students per class!

A sewing machine is required! Four sewing machines are available during class, for a small fee; on a first come first serve basis (must be reserved in advance of class).
